Big news from AirAsia today. This airline company will start its regular flights from Philippines this coming October. And keeping with its aims to be the “mother of all budget airlines,” this new one is in. Wait for it, passengers.

AirAsia started flying from Clark last 2005. It only offered with two daily flights going to Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu. But starting this October, Filipino passengers can now travel to other Asia’s popular destination like Singapore, Hongkong, Bangkok, Macau, and Seoul Incheon.

The first Airbus A320 was officially landed in Diosdado Macapagal International Airport in Clark, Pampanga last Monday. Another aircraft is expected to arrive this year, while two airbus are scheduled to arrive before the end of 2012. The arrival of A320 is just the beginning for AirAsia Philippines, “it signifies our first step in introducing ourselves to the nation,” said Hontiveros, the president and CEO of AirAsia Philippines.

The venture of AirAsia in the Philippines was confirmed last December 2010 headed by tycoon Antonio Cojuangco Jr., Micheal Romero and Marianne Hontiveros and Tony Fernandes of Malaysia, aims that this AirAsia Inc a Malaysian budget carrier becomes “one of the leading players in the country’s competitive air travel sector”.
