Atlantis Resort stands out because of its Mediterranean architecture evoking Greek village with its gleaming white structures. It is manage by George Bender, a German national. The hotel is slightly off Sabang Beach from which it is separated by a small public path. Because of the steep terrain, the building are literally clinging to the hillside, their shapes hugging the land’s contours. This location allows you to escape the bustle of Sabang and to enjoy the view of the sea.

A rather surrealistic flight of stone stairs with white carved railings leads to the rooms that become more sumptuous, cozy and have grander view as you go higher up the hill. Designed and decorated in a very original manner, all rooms are very pleasant with curved walls, rounded bathroom floors, the braided bamboo ceilings and the flowery printed bedspreads in bright colors are in contrast with the whiteness of the walls and furniture. The wooden lattice windows open widely either to the sea or the surrounding vegetation.

The Standard Rooms are located in a two-story building near the pool. These are the least spacious of the rooms and the only ones without airconditioning. The deluxe rooms are spacious and bright, with beautiful bathrooms. The rooms located higher up the hill have terraces. The suites atop the hill are the most attractive, with wide terraces outfitted with garden furniture, and some even with their own bar. From here, you enjoy an unimpeded view of the sea and the sunset in total privacy.

The restaurant, which serves quality cuisine, is where Franco, the Italian chef, presides. It is along the path that runs through Sabang Beach in a big, open bamboo structure. Unfortunately, the sea cannot be seen from here.

Atlantis offers an exceptional degree of comfort, charging the same rates as the neighboring hotels tat offer much simpler accommodations. The quality of its facilities, the small moon-shaped swimming pool and the professionalism of its diving club compensate for the unattractiveness of Sabang beach.

For swimming and snorkeling, you should walk to the nearby beaches of Small and Big La Laguna. On the other hand, if you wish to enjoy Sabang’s nightlife, you are close by. It is relatively easy to find jeepneys for excursions, but Atlantis can likewise arrange this for you.
