Isla Reta is a small beach resort in garden city of Samal. We took a 40-minute board ride from a port near Magsaysay Park at 50.00 each. The entrance fee is only 50.00 each for the whole day stay. There are no cottages here and if there are, its better not to rent one. Just get a table and bring your picnic blankets and dine below the trees. You can bring our own food and snacks, its allowed. Isla Reta has no high-class restaurants, hotel rooms or cottages. Its was just really a simple white beachfront. But they cook the best tasting native chicken tinola. It feels relaxing sleeping under the trees after lunch, watching the beach front and the tranquility of water.

The place is simple yet clean and inexpensive. Its more like a picnic groove where you can dine below trees or bring your own camping tent and spend a night free. Its nice spending overnight here with a camping tent but not with cottage.

Almost an hour boat ride from Davao City is the Talicud Island. It is known for its pristine white sand beaches. Some beach fronts are not yet developed so it does not attract a lot of beach goers. One of the famous and pioneering resorts in Talicud Island is the Isla Reta Beach Resort – owned by the Reta family of Davao City.

Another 15-minute boat ride from Isla Reta Beach Resort is another paradise, the Isla Reta II. The water is so clear, and so cool, with white sand and big waves. Only few are going to this place, it is not yet developed and it is more beautiful than having structures all around for it will only destroy the real beauty of nature.
