The most famous summer tourist destination here in the Philippines, Boracay island, has been set to close for 6-month as ordered by President Rodrigo Duterte said to be because the island needs to rehabilitate itself from all the damages it has experienced due to improper acts of many tourists.
This closure was done in hopes of rehabilitating the island; giving the island a 6-month period to restore back to normality.

The closure order of the President was a verbal order which was spurred through the recommendations of the different government departments concerned.
