No doubt the Aman Resort Amanpulo in Palawan is on the top on your list. This is our pride as a Filipino citizen that we have natural white fine beaches to choose from. The world famous Boracay Island has a charming beauty as well. We should promote more our beaches to all over the world especially to our Kababayan who living abroad.

This is where the filthy rich pinoys, the “one percenters” , play while the rest of the country live in squalor. A classic display of ancient Roman elitism and upper class culture callousness. It may not happen in this lifetime of mine, but one day, this nation will wake up and rise up against the social elite and corrupt politicians. 250 years of “siesta”, 50 years of “Hollywood” and 2 years of “sushi” didn’t wake up the population with all that suffering. I wonder when will we wake up as a nation.

Stop whining and ranting on how poor filipinos can’t afford these resorts. This post was not to brag about how “one percenters” can afford this! Just because the less fortunate can’t afford these, doesn’t mean that those who can can’t enjoy it. A classic display of crab mentality where if one suffers all must too, don’t you think?

yep.. if I can pay extra for some privacy with my wife I’d do it in a heartbeat. That idea and I can also add to call these list as “Things you do for your love” resorts lol.

      • lainee March 15, 2019 at - Reply

Couldn’t agree more! It seems that 99% of poor filipinos love to play guilt trip just because they can’t at least once in their lifetime afford to enjoy such luxuries. Hence they linger in these thoughts that people who enjoy this kind of lifestyle are corrupt or have dirty business/es and not because they worked hard and saved up thus they deserve to reap what they sowed. No wonder why poor stays poor and rich becomes richer. Tsk!

You missed the stunning island of Pangulasian in El Nido, Palawan…..lovely and superb!!

Infinity resort should be included, Lalaguna Villas and Out of the Blue cant be compared to it, ita a league of its own in Mindoro.

  11. Lou E February 26, 2015 at - Reply

Truly these resorts are for the high end market. I have luckily contracted to work for three months in Dedon Island when it used to be Pansukian Resort before it was sold to the new owners thus named Dedon Island. I’ve seen the type of guests the resort is targeted too. It’s pricey and not for middle income earners. It is pricey for a reason. However, the rest of the Siargao island is yours to explore for cheaper price, so the answer is stay in cheaper accommodation that is within your budget.

  12. Lana T February 24, 2015 at - Reply

Be careful! You can’t put Plantation Bay and Antulang on this list alongside Amanpulo, Shangri-la and the El Nido resorts. Plantation bay may be pricey but it is nowhere near luxurious. The place has a Disney feel with fake volcanoes in pools and outdated rooms. Crowd not too cool either, not private enough. And Antulang! What a joke! Have you been there? Slimey old pool. Plastic monoblock chairs at a so-so restaurant! . Decor has no rhyme or reason. No beach to speak of, just a cliff above the ocean. And service? Forget it. The people are nice — but this is NOT a luxury resort, when service staff has no 5-star training. Please, please be responsible do your research before posting this stuff! You can mislead people and make them waste their money on false claims to “luxury”.

  13. Lalaguna Villas is a much newer and nicer resort in Puerto Galera than Out of the Blue. It’s a fact.

For those Filipinos who cannot afford to have a honeymoon in these resorts , my advise is run to get elected as the town mayor , governor , congressman , etc. If you when , then follow what these politicians are doing….then of course you can afford to see and go to these places in a short period of time.
